Ion Exchange India Ltd has named Sanjay Sapra as the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Ion Exchange Americas (Ion Exchange LLC), while also appointing him as Chief Regional Officer – Americas. The appointment reinforces the company’s leadership team as it seeks to strengthen its presence across the Americas in the water treatment and environmental solutions sector.
Sapra brings more than four decades of industry experience to the role, having built an extensive career spanning water treatment, environmental solutions, business leadership, sales and marketing, regional operations and strategic business development. His appointment comes as Ion Exchange continues to expand its international footprint and enhance its capabilities across global markets.
Before taking on his new responsibilities, Sapra served as Managing Director & CEO of Aquanomics Systems Ltd, where he led the company’s operations and business strategy. His career also includes senior leadership positions at Pentair, where he was Director – Sales & Marketing, and at CUNO Inc., where he served as Country Manager, overseeing business growth and customer engagement.
Notably, Sapra’s professional journey began at Ion Exchange India Ltd as an engineer, making his latest appointment a return to the organisation in a key leadership capacity. Over the years, he has developed broad expertise across technical, commercial and strategic functions, enabling him to lead businesses operating in highly competitive and technology-driven markets.
Throughout his career, Sapra has worked on advancing water treatment and environmental management solutions while driving business expansion across multiple geographies. His experience spans sales leadership, operational management, market development and strategic planning, equipping him with a comprehensive understanding of the industry’s evolving requirements.
In his dual role as Managing Director & CEO of Ion Exchange Americas and Chief Regional Officer – Americas, Sapra will be responsible for leading the company’s regional operations while supporting business growth initiatives across the Americas. His mandate is expected to include strengthening customer relationships, expanding market presence and driving strategic initiatives aligned with Ion Exchange India’s long-term global objectives.
