New Delhi, India: Info Edge, the parent company of Naukri.com, is set to acquire full ownership of edtech platform Coding Ninjas, strengthening its presence in the technology skilling and online learning market.
The company will acquire the remaining shareholding of Sunrise Mentors, which operates Coding Ninjas, from its founders for approximately ₹39.91 crore. The transaction involves the purchase of 74,741 equity shares at ₹5,340.23 per share. After completion, Coding Ninjas will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Info Edge, held directly and through its subsidiary Startup Investments (Holding).
Coding Ninjas offers online technology courses and coding bootcamps for students and working professionals. Its programmes cover areas such as programming, data science, full-stack development, software engineering and newer technology areas including generative AI. The platform serves learners looking to build job-ready digital skills for careers in India’s technology and internet economy.
The acquisition is strategically important for Info Edge because it connects its recruitment platform Naukri with a technology learning platform. Info Edge said Naukri and Coding Ninjas can work together by helping job seekers access skill-building opportunities through the edtech platform. This can create a stronger link between job discovery, candidate upskilling and employability.
The company also plans to expand AI-related course offerings through Coding Ninjas. This is significant at a time when demand for AI, machine learning, data science and software development skills is rising across technology services, startups, global capability centres and enterprise digital transformation teams in India.
By bringing Coding Ninjas fully under its control, Info Edge can build deeper synergies across recruitment, learning and career development. Naukri gives the company access to a large base of job seekers and employers, while Coding Ninjas adds structured training capabilities. Together, the two platforms can support users through a wider career journey, from learning new technologies to applying for relevant roles.
The deal also reflects a broader trend in India’s edtech sector, where companies are focusing more on career-linked learning, outcome-based skilling and technology courses with direct employment relevance. As artificial intelligence reshapes job roles, platforms that combine hiring data with upskilling programmes may become more important for both candidates and employers.
Separately, Info Edge has also approved an additional commitment of up to ₹180 crore to B8 Fund I, a SEBI-registered Category II Alternative Investment Fund focused on growth-stage, tech-enabled Indian companies.
The acquisition of Coding Ninjas strengthens Info Edge’s position in India’s digital skilling ecosystem and gives the company a stronger platform to address the growing demand for AI and software talent.
