Suzlon Energy Appoints Anjali Byce as Group Chief Human Resource Officer

Pune, Suzlon Energy has appointed Anjali Byce as its Group Chief Human Resource Officer, effective July 29. She will also be designated as a senior management personnel of the company.

Byce succeeds Rajendra Mehta, who stepped down as Group Chief Human Resource Officer at the close of business on July 28 to pursue a career in consulting. Suzlon acknowledged Mehta’s contributions during his nearly four-year association with the group.

Byce brings approximately 27 years of experience across the manufacturing, automotive, industrial, engineering, technology and financial-services sectors. She most recently served as Chief Human Resources Officer at Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited.

Before joining Tata Motors’ passenger-vehicle business, she held senior leadership roles at Sterlite Technologies, SKF India, Thermax and Cummins. Her earlier professional experience also includes roles at Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance and Tata Motors.

Across these organisations, Byce has managed functions including strategic human resources, industrial relations, organisational development, learning and development, corporate social responsibility, health and safety, environmental management and administration.

She holds a master’s degree in applied psychology from the University of Delhi and a postgraduate diploma with a specialisation in human resources from the Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development. She has also completed executive education at IMD Business School.

Her professional work has received several industry recognitions, including a CHRO of the Year award and inclusion among the Top 100 Most Talented Global HR Leaders. Byce is also a published author and has contributed articles across print and other media platforms.

Suzlon described her appointment as an important addition to its leadership team as the company advances its Suzlon 2.0 strategy. In her new position, Byce is expected to oversee the group’s human-resource function as its renewable-energy operations and workforce requirements expand.
