Bengaluru, Groww cofounders Lalit Keshre, Ishan Bansal, Harsh Jain and Neeraj Singh are reportedly planning to establish a ₹400–500 crore investment fund under Stargazer AIF to support seed and early-stage startups.
The proposed fund is expected to invest primarily in consumer-internet and deeptech businesses, with additional focus on artificial intelligence and other frontier technologies. The plans have not yet been officially announced by Stargazer AIF, Groww or its cofounders.
Keshre, Bansal, Jain and Singh are expected to serve as the fund’s general partners. The vehicle will reportedly be financed using their personal capital, with no immediate plan to raise money from external limited partners.
A dedicated investment team is expected to manage startup sourcing, due diligence and portfolio support under the supervision of the four cofounders. Further details concerning the fund’s final corpus, investment size, regulatory status and launch timeline remain unavailable.
The proposed vehicle would be the second fund established under Stargazer AIF. The founders launched their first investment fund in 2023 with a reported corpus of approximately ₹250 crore. The existing fund has invested in early-stage companies operating across consumer technology, software and emerging technology segments.
The second fund would expand the founders’ institutional investment activities beyond individual angel investments. Its proposed focus on seed-stage businesses would place it among a growing group of founder-backed investment platforms providing capital and operational guidance to emerging Indian startups.
The initiative is separate from Groww’s core financial-services business. Groww operates a digital investment platform through which customers can access products including equities, mutual funds, exchange-traded funds and initial public offerings.
Founded in 2016 by former Flipkart executives Lalit Keshre, Harsh Jain, Neeraj Singh and Ishan Bansal, Groww is operated by Billionbrains Garage Ventures Limited. The Bengaluru-based financial-technology company provides digital investment and wealth-management services to retail customers across India.
