Adobe Acquires Bengaluru AI Startup Rilo to Expand Agentic Marketing Workflows

Adobe has acquired Bengaluru-based Rilo, an AI automation startup founded less than a year ago, through a transaction covering intellectual-property licensing and the transfer of its team. Financial terms were not disclosed. The acquisition gives Adobe technology and engineering talent focused on building multi-step marketing and go-to-market workflows through natural-language instructions.

Rilo was founded in September 2025 by IIT Bombay batchmates Dhruv Jaglan and Georgi Boby. Its platform allowed non-technical users to describe a business process in plain English and have AI agents assemble and execute that workflow across multiple software tools. Use cases included competitor intelligence, prospecting, sales-call analysis, content repurposing, campaign research, LinkedIn outreach and monitoring brand visibility across emerging AI discovery platforms.

More than 10,000 users had tried the product within months of its launch. Rilo raised approximately $1 million from investors including Peak XV Partners, DeVC and Day Zero Ventures at a reported valuation of $10 million. The six-member team and portions of the company’s intellectual property are expected to be integrated into Adobe. Rilo’s standalone service will close and will no longer remain available to existing customers.

The transaction is Adobe’s second known acquisition of an Indian AI company following its purchase of generative-video platform Rephrase.ai in 2023. It also represents an unusually rapid outcome for Rilo, moving from incorporation to acquisition in roughly one year. Jaglan previously co-founded AI recruitment company Babblebots.ai, while Boby served as technology lead at cooking-robotics startup CloudChef.

Adobe has been expanding its enterprise products from individual generative-AI features toward systems capable of coordinating entire customer-experience workflows. Its CX Enterprise Coworker, made generally available in June, can synthesise information from Adobe and third-party applications and coordinate agents across analytics, content generation, journey orchestration and marketing operations. Adobe says its underlying Experience Platform supports more than one trillion customer experiences annually and is used within an enterprise ecosystem serving more than 20,000 brands.

Rilo’s workflow-building approach aligns with that architecture. Its software was designed to translate a business objective into a sequence of actions spanning research, content and distribution rather than complete a single isolated task. Adobe has also been extending its marketing agents into external AI environments and enterprise productivity platforms, including systems operated by Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, Google, Anthropic and OpenAI.

The acquisition adds a small Indian engineering team to Adobe’s agentic-AI programme at a time when marketing software vendors are competing to govern how autonomous systems access customer data, create brand-compliant material and take actions across applications. Adobe has confirmed the transaction but has not specified which products will receive Rilo’s technology or provided an integration timetable.
