Mumbai-based consumer-appliance startup EDT has raised $2.4 million in a financing round led by existing investor Sauce, adding capital for inventory procurement, distribution growth and expansion beyond kitchen equipment into personal-care devices.
The transaction brought together institutional and individual investors with operating experience across consumer brands, logistics and product development. Venture-debt firm Alteria Capital participated alongside Raul Rai, co-founder of Nicobar; Shibam Das and Arindam Paul of Atomberg; Delhivery chief operating officer Ajith Pai; and Anushree Tainwala, executive director for marketing at Samsonite South Asia. Existing investors also joined the round. The company has not disclosed its post-money valuation or the division of the financing between equity and debt.
The latest capital follows a previously announced $1.4 million pre-seed round led by Sauce. EDT is using the additional financing partly to build inventory ahead of India’s festive retail cycle, when consumer-appliance companies typically increase stocks across marketplaces, quick-commerce platforms and offline channels. The company has also begun extending its portfolio from countertop kitchen appliances into beauty and personal-care hardware.
EDT currently sells the LUMA range of glass air-fryer ovens and the FLOW precision kettle. Its newer SUKI product is positioned as an intelligent hair-drying device, marking the company’s first disclosed move into beauty appliances. The products are priced in the mid-premium segment: listed prices on EDT’s direct channel include ₹11,999 for the LUMA air-fryer oven, ₹4,999 for FLOW and ₹8,499 for SUKI, although promotional pricing may change.
The company has been building an omnichannel distribution footprint rather than relying exclusively on its own direct-to-consumer storefront. Its products are available through Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit and Croma, among other retail partners. The Croma rollout gives EDT an offline demonstration channel for products such as air fryers, kettles and hair dryers, where product construction, controls and physical design can influence purchasing decisions.
EDT operates through EDTLife Technology Private Limited and describes its business as the development of design-led, technology-enabled devices for Indian homes. Its product positioning combines connected or sensor-assisted functionality with material and industrial-design claims, including glass cooking chambers in the LUMA range. The company maintains operations across Mumbai and Bengaluru, with additional links to product and design talent in London and San Francisco.
Sauce, which focuses exclusively on Indian consumer businesses, manages approximately ₹1,600 crore across more than six funds and has made over 32 investments. Its disclosed portfolio includes consumer brands such as Mokobara, Supertails, Perfora, Innovist and The Whole Truth. The follow-on investment in EDT continues its model of providing multiple rounds of capital to selected early-stage consumer companies as they expand products and distribution.
