Wipro Beats Second-Quarter Revenue Estimates as European Spending and AI Support Growth

Wipro reported higher-than-expected revenue for the July-September quarter of 2026, supported by a recovery in spending by European clients and new revenue opportunities linked to artificial intelligence (AI). The Bengaluru-based company announced its second-quarter performance on October 15, 2026.

The IT services company’s consolidated revenue rose 9.1% year-on-year to Rs 247.53 billion, equivalent to approximately $2.60 billion, during the quarter. The result was above the average analyst estimate of Rs 246.27 billion, according to data from LSEG.

The performance reflects improving spending from European clients, alongside opportunities emerging from AI-related services. Wipro is among India’s major IT services providers, and its quarterly results are closely watched for indications of client spending and demand for technology services.

Europe accounts for more than a quarter of Wipro’s business. Revenue from the region increased 5.1% year-on-year, excluding currency fluctuations, according to Reuters. The improvement in European client spending contributed to the company’s overall revenue performance.

AI is also creating new revenue opportunities for the company as businesses explore ways to incorporate the technology into their operations. Wipro has been expanding its AI-related offerings and partnerships as demand for enterprise technology services evolves.

However, revenue growth did not translate into a stronger profit performance. Wipro’s net profit for the quarter stood at Rs 32.01 billion, below analysts’ expectations of Rs 33.69 billion. The company also recorded a decline in deal bookings, which fell to $2.6 billion from $4.7 billion a year earlier.

The fall in deal bookings indicates that the company’s revenue performance and the value of new business secured during the period moved in different directions. While revenue exceeded market expectations, the lower deal-booking figure remained a separate measure of business development during the quarter.

Wipro’s third-quarter revenue outlook placed its expected revenue in the range of $2.57 billion to $2.63 billion. This forecast suggested that revenue could decline by 1.5% or increase by up to 0.5% sequentially.

The results underline a mixed quarterly performance: Wipro exceeded analysts’ revenue expectations, helped by European client spending and AI-related opportunities, while net profit fell short of estimates and deal bookings declined compared with the previous year.
