Flipkart Internet, the marketplace arm of Walmart-owned Flipkart, reported a 19% year-on-year decline in operating revenue to Rs 16,295 crore in the financial year 2025-26 (FY26), compared with Rs 20,202 crore in FY25. The figures were reported in documents filed with the Registrar of Companies (RoC).
The company’s net loss increased sharply during the year, nearly tripling to Rs 5,498 crore in FY26 from Rs 1,694 crore in the previous financial year. The increase in losses came even as the company reported a reduction in its total expenses.
Flipkart Internet’s total expenses fell by around 4% year-on-year to Rs 22,522 crore in FY26, compared with Rs 23,361 crore in FY25. Despite the lower expenses, the company reported a substantially wider net loss alongside its decline in operating revenue.
The financial results cover Flipkart Internet, the marketplace entity through which the Walmart-owned group operates its online marketplace business. The figures relate specifically to this entity and should not be treated as the consolidated financial performance of every business under the wider Flipkart group.
Meanwhile, Amazon India’s marketplace entity, Amazon Seller Services, reported an increase in operating revenue during FY26. Its operating revenue rose 15% year-on-year to Rs 34,966.8 crore. The company reported a net loss of Rs 389.9 crore, down 3.4% from Rs 408 crore in FY25.
The comparison shows contrasting financial performances between the two marketplace entities during the financial year. Flipkart Internet recorded lower operating revenue and a higher net loss, while Amazon Seller Services reported revenue growth and a smaller loss.
The filings provide a view of the financial performance of the two companies’ marketplace entities in FY26. For Flipkart Internet, the key figures were operating revenue of Rs 16,295 crore, total expenses of Rs 22,522 crore and a net loss of Rs 5,498 crore.
