Allied Blenders & Distillers Appoints Bikram Basu as Group Chief Marketing and Innovation Officer

Allied Blenders & Distillers Limited has appointed Bikram Basu as Group Chief Marketing and Innovation Officer and designated him as Senior Management Personnel, effective August 1, 2026. The appointment is part of an internal reorganisation approved by the company’s Board of Directors following the recommendation of its Nomination and Remuneration Committee.

Basu is currently Managing Director of ABD Maestro Private Limited, a subsidiary of Allied Blenders & Distillers. After transitioning to the new group-level position, he will continue to oversee ABD Maestro’s operations. His expanded responsibilities will bring marketing, brand strategy and innovation under group-level leadership as ABD develops its portfolio across different segments of India’s alcoholic-beverages market.

The organisational change will also affect the company’s reporting structure. Dr. Pradipta Basu, who was appointed Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Management Personnel in April 2026, will cease to be classified as Senior Management Personnel from July 31. He will, however, continue serving as Chief Marketing Officer.

Bikram Basu brings more than three decades of experience in the spirits industry, covering business and brand strategy, marketing, sales, innovation and portfolio development. He has spent nearly 11 years with Allied Blenders & Distillers, holding leadership responsibilities across strategy, marketing and operations. His roles have included Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer and Chief Operating Officer before he became Managing Director of ABD Maestro.

Before joining ABD, Basu spent 14 years with Pernod Ricard India, including as Vice President – Marketing for India and SAARC. His responsibilities covered a wide portfolio of Indian and international brands, including Blenders Pride, Royal Stag, Imperial Blue, Absolut Vodka, Chivas Regal, The Glenlivet, Ballantine’s, Jameson and Jacob’s Creek. He began his spirits-industry career at United Spirits, where he spent six years in sales and product-management assignments.

Basu has also been associated with the Confederation of Indian Alcoholic Beverage Companies for more than a decade, serving as its Vice-Chairman between 2015 and 2018. He currently sits on the industry body’s board. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata, an MBA from XLRI Jamshedpur and an executive-development certificate from INSEAD.

Allied Blenders & Distillers is one of India’s leading spirits companies, with a portfolio spanning mass-premium, prestige and luxury segments. Evolving from a single-brand organisation, the company now operates through a pan-India distribution network covering more than 80,000 retail outlets and has a presence across 36 countries. Its portfolio includes Officer’s Choice, Sterling Reserve and ICONiQ White, alongside its luxury platform, ABD Maestro. The company combines heritage craftsmanship with data-driven execution, with a focus on premiumisation, value-led growth and sustainable stakeholder value.
