The Government of Andhra Pradesh has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bengaluru-based drone technology company Airbound to develop one of the world’s largest commercial drone delivery networks across the Amaravati Capital Region.
The initiative aims to support up to 10,000 drone flights per day for the transportation of healthcare supplies, commercial goods, and critical consignments across key urban and regional corridors.
The agreement was signed between the Andhra Pradesh Drone Corporation and Airbound in the presence of Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu. The proposed drone corridors will initially connect Amaravati, Vijayawada, and Guntur, with operations set to begin from Guntur.
Airbound stated that the project will focus on building an integrated drone logistics ecosystem capable of supporting high-frequency commercial operations and rapid delivery services across the region.
Commenting on the development, Airbound Chief Executive Officer Naman Pushp said the company’s blended-wing-body aircraft, weighing 1.5 kilograms with a 1.5:1 payload-to-weight ratio, enables deliveries at costs that are up to 20 times lower than traditional logistics methods.
The company has already conducted more than 1,000 healthcare drone delivery flights in partnership with Narayana Health in Bengaluru and has completed over 10,000 drone flights overall across its operational network.
The partnership comes as India accelerates investments in drone technology, unmanned aerial logistics, and smart mobility infrastructure to improve healthcare access, logistics efficiency, and digital connectivity. Several state governments and private enterprises are increasingly exploring drone-based delivery systems for medical supplies, e-commerce logistics, emergency response, and infrastructure support.
Airbound is a Bengaluru-based drone logistics company focused on autonomous aerial delivery systems, healthcare logistics, and next-generation drone transportation infrastructure.
