Ashish Sharma has taken on the role of Chief Executive Officer of GMR Group’s Edtech Ventures, where he will lead the organization’s strategy and expansion in the education and upskilling space.
In this role, he will focus on strengthening digital learning initiatives and advancing workforce development efforts aligned with evolving industry requirements.
He joins from PW (PhysicsWallah), where he served as Business Head – PW Skills from November 2023 to March 2026 in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. During his tenure, he played a key role in scaling skilling initiatives and driving business strategy.
Prior to this, he held the position of Vice President at upGrad from July 2022 to December 2023, where he was involved in building new business initiatives and driving strategic execution.
Earlier, he worked as Associate Vice President at Paytm Mall from February 2021 to April 2022 in Bangalore Urban, Karnataka, India. In this role, he contributed to operational improvements, including launching multiple fulfillment centers and enhancing delivery efficiency while optimizing costs.
Before that, he spent several years at Amazon, where he led large-scale supply chain and program management initiatives, gaining experience in operations and scalability.
He also began his career with roles at Cognizant and Reliance Communications, building a strong foundation across consulting, operations, and strategy.
With experience spanning digital education, e-commerce, and operations, Ashish Sharma brings a well-rounded perspective to drive GMR Group’s edtech initiatives and growth strategy.
