Currently serving as Global Chief Operating Officer, Achin Gupta has been a key architect of Cipla’s transformation journey. Overseeing a global commercial portfolio exceeding USD 3 billion, he has driven operational excellence, digital innovation, and patient-focused strategies across markets. His leadership has been central to embedding agility, collaboration, and performance across the organization.
Previously, Gupta successfully led Cipla’s One India Business, which includes Branded Prescriptions, Trade Generics, Consumer Health, and Digital Health. Under his stewardship, the business achieved strong revenue growth, market share expansion, and strengthened its digital and consumer ecosystem. His ability to align commercial execution with long-term strategic vision has been instrumental in positioning Cipla as a dynamic, future-ready healthcare organization.
Before joining Cipla, Achin Gupta held senior leadership roles at Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, where he led business expansion across Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific region. During his tenure, he helped transition Glenmark from a generics-focused player to a diversified branded and OTC healthcare company. Earlier in his career, his time at Abbott Laboratories equipped him with a strong foundation in global business strategy, operational leadership, and market development.
An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad, Gupta is widely regarded for his visionary leadership and purpose-driven approach to building sustainable and innovative healthcare ecosystems.
