Kolkata, West Bengal, India, Indian dating platform flutrr has appointed Ankit Santra as its new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), marking a leadership transition within the company’s marketing function. Santra succeeds co-founder Anirban Banerjee, who is stepping down as CMO after leading and developing the vertical for approximately five years.
In his new position, Santra is expected to guide flutrr’s overall marketing direction as the company strengthens its presence in India’s competitive online dating market. His responsibilities will include brand strategy, creative communications, user engagement and campaigns supporting the platform’s growth. His appointment also brings creative and marketing leadership under an executive who has already worked closely with the brand and understands its positioning, audience and long-term objectives.
Santra was serving as Creative Head at flutrr prior to his elevation. He initially contributed to the company as a consultant before moving into an internal leadership position. During the past year, he played a central role in flutrr’s comprehensive rebranding initiative, helping reshape its visual identity and creative communication. His work focused on presenting the platform as a destination for intentional and culturally relevant relationships, particularly among users seeking meaningful connections beyond conventional swipe-based interactions.
His professional background spans filmmaking, storytelling, advertising and large-scale brand development. Santra pursued a master’s degree in the United Kingdom and subsequently gained brand-building experience at dentsu. His creative portfolio also includes independent filmmaking. One of his projects, The Dreamcatcher, was selected for the International Film Festival of South Asia in Toronto, while he has also directed branded and cultural content associated with flutrr. This combination of advertising knowledge and narrative-led creativity is expected to inform the platform’s future brand campaigns.
Announcing the transition, Banerjee said Santra’s understanding of flutrr’s identity and his contribution to its recent transformation made him a natural choice to lead the marketing function. The appointment represents an internal elevation and provides continuity as flutrr advances its next phase of brand development.
