Harshneel Nanche Appointed CISO at PayU Finance India, to Drive Cyber Resilience and Risk Governance

Harshneel Nanche has taken on the role of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at PayU Finance India Private Limited, strengthening the fintech company’s leadership as it sharpens its focus on cyber resilience, governance, and enterprise risk management. Announcing the move, Nanche said, “I have taken on the role of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at PayU Finance India Private Limited. My focus is to strengthen cyber resilience, governance, and enterprise risk management as strategic enablers of sustainable business outcomes.” He added, “I look forward to partnering with the Board and leadership team to deliver measurable, long-term security value.”

In his new role, Nanche will be responsible for aligning PayU Finance’s cybersecurity strategy with business objectives, ensuring regulatory compliance, and embedding security as a core pillar of sustainable growth. His mandate includes strengthening governance frameworks, enhancing risk oversight, and building long-term cyber resilience in an increasingly complex digital and regulatory environment.

Nanche brings with him deep experience across cybersecurity strategy, governance, and security operations, with a strong grounding in financial services, telecom, and consulting. Prior to joining PayU Finance India, he served as Virtual Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO) at Airtel Digital, where he provided enterprise-wide security leadership covering strategy, risk management, compliance, incident response, third-party security, and business continuity. In this role, he worked closely with leadership teams to safeguard digital assets while enabling secure business operations.

Earlier, Nanche was Senior Manager – Information Security at Piramal Capital & Housing Finance Limited, where he was part of the CISO function overseeing governance, risk, and compliance (GRC), incident management, security operations, and business continuity planning. His work involved leading internal and external audits, strengthening SIEM and cloud security controls, managing regulatory requirements, and delivering executive-level risk reporting.

His career also includes a senior leadership role at Vodafone Idea Limited as AGM – Technology Security, where he led regulatory and non-regulatory compliance initiatives, data privacy programs, security risk governance, and awareness training, while managing large teams and vendor ecosystems. Prior to this, he was a Senior Consultant at Genpact, advising global clients on third-party risk management, SOX compliance, and emerging risks such as robotic process automation.

With expertise spanning cybersecurity governance, regulatory compliance, cloud and data security, incident response, and business continuity, Nanche is well positioned to help PayU Finance India navigate evolving cyber threats while fostering trust, resilience, and secure innovation across the organisation.
