India — IndiGo (InterGlobe Aviation Ltd) has appointed Kanwal Jeet Singh Bakshi as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), effective July 20, following the resignation of Sukhjit S. Pasricha.
Bakshi joins the airline’s leadership team from InterGlobe Enterprises, the parent company of InterGlobe Aviation, where he currently serves as Group Head of Human Resources. In his new role, he will lead IndiGo’s people strategy, talent management, organizational development, leadership initiatives, and workforce transformation programmes as the airline continues its expansion.
He brings extensive experience in human resources leadership, organizational effectiveness, talent development, and people transformation across large and complex business environments.
Prior to his appointment as CHRO at IndiGo, Bakshi led strategic HR initiatives across InterGlobe Enterprises, overseeing leadership development, organizational capability building, employee engagement, and enterprise-wide people transformation initiatives.
His appointment comes at a time when the aviation industry is increasingly focusing on workforce modernization, leadership development, digital HR transformation, and talent retention amid rapid growth and evolving operational demands.
Industry experts believe strong HR leadership has become increasingly critical for large aviation and travel organizations as they scale operations, strengthen customer experience capabilities, and manage workforce expansion in highly competitive markets.
IndiGo, operated by InterGlobe Aviation Ltd, is India’s largest airline by market share and one of the country’s leading aviation companies. The airline operates an extensive domestic and international network, focusing on low-cost air travel, operational efficiency, and large-scale passenger connectivity across multiple global destinations.
