Indian energy and environment solutions company Thermax has appointed Kavita Singh as its new Group Chief Human Resources Officer (GCHRO), strengthening the company’s leadership team as it continues expanding its global operations and sustainability-focused business initiatives. The appointment was recently approved by the company’s board and is expected to take effect from May 25, 2026.
Kavita Singh joins Thermax Group after spending more than five years with United Breweries, where she played a significant leadership role in driving human resource strategy and organizational transformation. Her move comes at a time when companies across industries are increasingly prioritizing leadership development, workforce transformation, and talent management in response to rapid technological and business changes.
As Group CHRO, Singh is expected to oversee Thermax’s people strategy across its domestic and international operations. Industry experts believe her appointment reflects the company’s growing focus on strengthening organizational culture, employee engagement, leadership pipelines, and future-ready workforce capabilities. Thermax currently operates across more than 90 countries and has a strong presence in energy transition, clean energy, water treatment, and environmental technologies.
Thermax has been actively investing in innovation, sustainability, and digital transformation under the leadership of Managing Director and CEO Ashish Bhandari. The company has increasingly focused on emerging sectors such as renewable energy, hydrogen, biofuels, and AI-enabled industrial technologies. Analysts note that leadership appointments in HR are becoming strategically important as organizations compete for specialized talent in engineering, sustainability, and advanced technology sectors.
Industry observers say Singh’s appointment aligns with a broader trend where large enterprises are elevating HR leadership to play a more central role in business strategy and transformation. As organizations navigate automation, AI adoption, and changing workforce expectations, HR leaders are increasingly expected to drive cultural agility, digital learning, diversity initiatives, and long-term talent resilience. Experts believe companies like Thermax are positioning themselves to build stronger leadership ecosystems capable of supporting future growth in a rapidly evolving global business environment.
