In a groundbreaking initiative blending technology and creativity, LTIMindtree has partnered with the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) and the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) to introduce India’s first-ever Artificial Intelligence Film Festival and Hackathon. Scheduled from November 20 to 28, 2025, during the 56th edition of IFFI in Goa, the event will spotlight the convergence of AI and cinema — featuring AI-generated films across genres and a 48-hour hackathon where participants will develop innovative AI-powered storytelling tools.
The event marks a significant step in positioning India as a frontrunner in the realm of AI-driven creative innovation. By integrating emerging technologies with cinematic expression, the initiative aims to redefine how stories are imagined, designed, and experienced on screen.
Festival Director and acclaimed filmmaker Shekhar Kapur captured the essence of this pioneering effort, stating, “Cinema has always reflected the power of human imagination. Today, AI gives us a new lens that expands our ability to dream, design, and express. The IFFI AI Film Festival will be a playground for that evolution.” His vision underscores the festival’s intent to celebrate experimentation and the transformative possibilities that technology brings to art.
Echoing this sentiment, Dr. Sujay Sen, Executive Vice President at LTIMindtree, highlighted the company’s commitment to fusing digital innovation with creative industries, noting that the collaboration seeks to “bring the magic of AI to India’s creative economy.” The initiative not only showcases AI’s growing role in artistic production but also opens new opportunities for developers, storytellers, and digital creators to collaborate on next-generation tools for filmmaking.
Prakash Magdum, Managing Director at NFDC, reaffirmed IFFI’s legacy of embracing innovation, emphasizing that the festival has “always welcomed emerging voices and technologies” in cinema.
Together, LTIMindtree, IFFI, and NFDC envision the AI Film Festival as more than just an event — a platform for cross-disciplinary collaboration that encourages filmmakers, technologists, and innovators to explore the evolving future of storytelling. As AI continues to reshape industries worldwide, this initiative cements India’s role at the forefront of cinematic and technological evolution.
