T&G Global Limited has appointed Mohammed Irfaan as its Chief Information Security Officer, effective October 2026. Based in Melbourne, he steps into the role after leading the company’s cyber security and IT infrastructure function since June 2024.
Mohammed’s path to the CISO seat started with hands-on technical work. He began as a Network Administrator at Xtreme IT Solutions in Lautoka, Fiji, in 2006, then spent nearly eight years as IT Manager at Makans Drugs. In 2015 he moved to New Zealand as a Systems Engineer at Lucidity Cloud Services, where he worked on hyper-converged infrastructure, large-scale workload migrations and ISO 27001 compliant environments. He joined T&G Global in 2019 as a Senior System Engineer, working across storage, network virtualisation, SAP and Azure. In 2020 he became IT Infrastructure Manager in Auckland, leading infrastructure planning, data centre operations, disaster recovery and the cyber security roadmap across on-premises and public cloud.
As Head of Cyber Security and IT Infrastructure, Mohammed worked closely with executive leadership on transformation across a global, multi-site environment. He modernised legacy platforms, moved infrastructure towards hybrid cloud and zero-trust security, and oversaw the security and performance of ERP systems including SAP and Microsoft Navision. He set up ICT governance frameworks aligned with ITIL and enterprise risk management, strengthened disaster recovery and business continuity planning, and regularly reported to the C-suite and board on cyber risk, technology ROI and infrastructure performance. He also championed security awareness programs to build secure-by-design thinking across digital projects, and developed his teams through succession planning and capability uplift.
Cyber risk is now a boardroom topic, and organisations increasingly need security leaders who understand both the technology and the business. Mohammed brings both. He knows the infrastructure from the inside, having built and managed it, and he can explain risk in terms that executives and boards can act on. His promotion also reflects T&G’s belief in growing leaders from within. After more than seven years with the company, he takes on the CISO role with deep knowledge of its systems, its people and its priorities.
As T&G continues to expand its digital footprint, the CISO role will be central to protecting its operations and keeping the business resilient. We congratulate Mohammed Irfaan on this well-earned milestone and wish him every success in the role.
