
Azure Power has announced the appointment of Rajat Gupta as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective August 2025. Rajat brings with him over two decades of leadership experience in the power and renewable energy space, having held senior finance roles at Essar Power Limited, Avaada Group, Sprng Energy, Ostro Energy, Avantha Power & Infrastructure Limited (APIL), and UNITECH Energy Group. Across these organizations, he has played a critical role in strategic financial planning, capital allocation, and business transformation, consistently driving operational excellence and long-term value creation.
In his new role at Azure Power, Rajat will leverage his extensive experience in the power and renewable energy sector to strengthen financial strategies and support the company’s mission of advancing clean energy solutions. His appointment comes at a time when Azure Power is accelerating its efforts to develop large-scale solar and hybrid projects, making robust financial stewardship more critical than ever.
