India — Swiss healthcare major Roche is expanding its technology footprint in India with the launch of a second Digital Technology Hub in Hyderabad, with operations expected to commence in the first quarter of 2027.
The new facility will strengthen Roche’s global digital and technology operations by expanding its life sciences and digital capabilities while supporting the development of enterprise technology solutions and healthcare-focused digital innovation initiatives.
The Hyderabad hub will operate alongside Roche’s existing Digital Technology Hub in Pune, further strengthening the company’s India-based technology network as it continues investing in digital transformation, data-driven healthcare, and global technology operations.
According to the company, the two India-based Digital Technology Hubs will support a broad range of IT services and digital applications across key business functions including biostatistics, enterprise resource planning (ERP), medical safety, and healthcare technology systems.
Roche stated that the Hyderabad facility will add significant domain expertise and technology capabilities while helping accelerate the development and scaling of digital solutions supporting the company’s global operations.
Industry experts note that global healthcare and pharmaceutical companies are increasingly expanding digital capability centres in India to access skilled technology talent across AI, cloud, analytics, enterprise applications, life sciences technology, and healthcare data management.
The expansion also reflects the growing importance of India as a strategic global technology and innovation hub for multinational healthcare organizations seeking to modernize research, clinical, operational, and commercial systems through advanced digital infrastructure and technology-led transformation.
Analysts believe demand for healthcare technology, digital diagnostics, AI-enabled medical systems, enterprise automation, and data-driven healthcare platforms will continue accelerating as pharmaceutical and life sciences companies globally invest in digital operating models and next-generation healthcare ecosystems.
Roche is one of the world’s leading healthcare and pharmaceutical companies, focused on pharmaceuticals and diagnostics. Headquartered in Switzerland, the company operates globally across healthcare innovation, diagnostics, biotechnology, and personalized medicine while investing heavily in digital transformation, data science, and healthcare technology solutions.
