Rohan Kanungo has joined GSK as Director & Site Lead for the Global Capability Centre in India, within the Governance, Risk & Compliance function. This move comes after an impactful five-year journey at Google Cloud, where he worked closely with some of the brightest minds in technology to strengthen digital transformation and cybersecurity capabilities for global enterprises.
Announcing his new role, Rohan shared, “After an incredible five-year ride at Google Cloud—where I had the privilege of working with some of the brightest minds in tech—I’m excited to turn the page and begin a new chapter with another frontier-pushing organization in the healthcare and life sciences space. I’ve joined GSK as Director & Site Lead for the Global Capability Centre in India within the Governance, Risk & Compliance function.”

A seasoned cybersecurity and privacy professional with over two decades of experience, Rohan has developed a distinctive approach to navigating the complex intersections of cybersecurity, data privacy, technology risk, and regulatory compliance. Reflecting on his professional philosophy, he noted, “As a cybersecurity and privacy professional, I’ve learned that truly protecting an organization means embodying a unique blend of strategic archetypes to navigate the complex landscape of cyber security, data privacy, technology risk and regulatory compliance.”
During his time at Google Cloud’s Office of the CISO, Rohan not only enhanced the company’s security posture but also acted as a bridge between Google’s cutting-edge technology and the nuanced, industry-specific needs of its customers. His role demanded a balance of security expertise, thought leadership, and executive collaboration with CXOs, regulators, and government bodies to strengthen cybersecurity frameworks globally.
