Commerce has appointed Sri Subramanian as its new Head of Data and AI, marking a new chapter in his career focused on data strategy, artificial intelligence, analytics and cloud transformation.
Subramanian announced his new role on LinkedIn, sharing that he has joined Commerce to lead its Data and AI function. In his new position, he will focus on developing robust data strategies and using advanced AI and analytical capabilities to deliver tangible business outcomes.
With extensive experience as a Data and AI executive, Subramanian brings expertise across data platform strategy, AI, analytics and cloud transformation. His professional focus has centred on connecting data and emerging technologies with practical business requirements and measurable value.
Before joining Commerce, Subramanian had a stint at Snowflake, where he gained exposure to the rapidly evolving area of Agentic AI. He described the experience as highly impactful, highlighting the opportunity to learn from the technology and work alongside teams operating at the forefront of AI innovation.
During his time at Snowflake, Subramanian worked in an environment focused on data platforms and emerging AI capabilities. He has expressed appreciation for the experience and the people he collaborated with during his tenure. He will also continue his association with the Snowflake ecosystem as a customer through his new role at Commerce.
At Commerce, Subramanian’s mandate will centre on strengthening the organisation’s data and AI capabilities and translating them into actionable insights. His stated objective is to bridge the gap between advanced AI and analytical capabilities and real-world business value, with a focus on creating measurable outcomes through data-led decision-making.
The appointment comes as organisations increasingly look to integrate AI into their data strategies and move beyond experimentation towards practical enterprise applications. For Commerce, Subramanian’s experience across data platforms, AI and analytics positions him to help build capabilities that can support business growth and operational decision-making.
In his new role, he will work closely with the Commerce leadership and technology teams to advance the company’s data and AI agenda. His responsibilities are expected to span data strategy, AI adoption, analytics and the development of capabilities that enable the organisation to extract greater value from its data assets.
Subramanian’s move from Snowflake to Commerce therefore represents a transition from a technology-provider environment to an enterprise leadership role where he can apply his experience directly to business transformation.
With his appointment as Head of Data and AI, Commerce strengthens its leadership in a function that is increasingly central to technology-led business growth. Subramanian is set to focus on building a strong data foundation, applying AI and analytics effectively, and converting technology capabilities into meaningful business results.
