Pune: Tanin Chakraborty has joined Persistent Systems as Principal Consultant and Head of Delivery – Data Privacy & Responsible AI, strengthening the technology services company’s leadership capabilities across digital trust, data governance and responsible technology.
In his new role, Chakraborty will focus on developing and leading strategic digital-trust capabilities covering data privacy, artificial intelligence governance, responsible AI, cybersecurity governance, risk and compliance. He will work closely with senior leadership teams and advise organisations on managing regulatory, security and governance requirements as they expand their use of data and artificial intelligence.
His responsibilities will include delivering complex transformation programmes and helping enterprises establish governance frameworks that support the secure, compliant and responsible adoption of emerging technologies. The role will also involve integrating privacy, cybersecurity and AI-governance principles into broader enterprise-transformation programmes.
Chakraborty joins Persistent Systems after serving as Global Data Protection Officer at Biocon Biologics, where he was responsible for the company’s global data-protection and privacy agenda. His work involved supporting privacy governance and compliance across the biopharmaceutical organisation’s international operations.
With close to two decades of professional experience, Chakraborty brings expertise across data privacy, AI governance, responsible AI, cybersecurity governance, risk management and regulatory compliance. His experience includes advising business and technology leaders, developing governance programmes and managing complex organisational transformation initiatives.
Alongside his corporate responsibilities, Chakraborty has remained involved in the privacy, AI-governance and cybersecurity community. He participates in industry conferences, panel discussions, professional meetups and knowledge-sharing forums focused on digital trust and responsible technology adoption.
His appointment comes as enterprises increase their use of generative and agentic AI systems, creating a greater need for governance structures that address data protection, cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, transparency and technology risk.
