Indian IT services major Wipro has announced the acquisition of select customer contracts from Alpha Net Consulting and its subsidiaries for up to $70.8 million. The move is part of Wipro’s broader strategy to strengthen its presence in AI-driven and consulting-led application services, as demand for advanced digital solutions continues to rise.
The agreement, signed on April 14, 2026, involves a cash consideration of up to $70.8 million, including a deferred component structured as an earnout based on performance metrics. The transaction is expected to be completed by June 30, 2026, subject to customary closing conditions, and does not require regulatory approvals, allowing for a relatively smooth execution process.
Through this acquisition, Wipro will gain access to key clientele, existing customer contracts, and the associated workforce from Alpha Net Group. This is expected to enhance Wipro’s capabilities in AI-powered application services and consulting, enabling the company to deliver more sophisticated and integrated solutions to its global clients.
Alpha Net Group, founded in 2001 and headquartered in Santa Clara, California, operates across multiple regions including Singapore, India, the UK, and the Netherlands. The company specializes in enterprise software development, data engineering, and managed services. The customer contracts being acquired generated revenues of $27.9 million in 2023, $34.4 million in 2024, and $37.3 million in 2025, indicating steady growth in its business operations.
The acquisition aligns with Wipro’s ongoing push towards an AI-first business model, as the IT services industry increasingly shifts toward automation, data-driven decision-making, and digital transformation. By integrating Alpha Net’s capabilities and client base, Wipro aims to accelerate its growth trajectory and strengthen its competitive position in the global technology services market.
