YouTube has announced a major expansion of its AI capabilities and partnerships in India, using its Impact Summit in New Delhi on November 17 to outline its vision for the next phase of the country’s creator-led digital economy. The company highlighted new findings from an Oxford Economics study, which reported that YouTube’s creative ecosystem contributed over ₹16,000 crore to India’s GDP and supported more than 750,000 full-time equivalent jobs in 2023 — a reflection of the platform’s growing role in income generation, digital entrepreneurship, and skills enablement across the country.
At the event, YouTube introduced a range of AI-driven tools designed to simplify and elevate content creation for millions of Indian users. These include automated editing and dubbing features, as well as enhanced capabilities tailored for classrooms and educators. The platform also announced an expansion of its partnerships with Indian education providers and digital skilling programmes to strengthen access to high-quality, multilingual learning resources.
Together, these initiatives signal YouTube’s commitment to driving AI-led creativity, accelerating digital skills development, and fostering broader economic participation — underscoring its position as a key driver of India’s fast-evolving digital and creator economy.
