Watertec India, a Warburg Pincus portfolio company in the building materials sector, has elevated Lionel Paul David to the role of Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). In this expanded leadership position, Lionel joins the Senior Leadership Team and will spearhead the company’s people and culture transformation as Watertec scales into a high-growth, globally managed organization.
Since joining Watertec in January 2024 as Head of HR, Lionel has been instrumental in shaping the company’s human resources strategy. Bringing over 20 years of diverse HR experience, he has led impactful transformations across various industries and geographies, including roles at Stellantis, Olam, RR Donnelley, and Exemplarr WorldWide. At Stellantis, Lionel played a crucial role in workforce integration following mergers and led regional HR redesign across nine countries, supporting renowned automotive brands such as Jeep, Citroën, and Maserati.
A respected voice in the HR community, Lionel has served as a Board Member of the National HRD Network (NHRDN) and as an advisor to the Tamil Nadu Government’s CSR Alliance. His contributions have been recognized through awards and accolades from reputed organizations including The Economic Times, Business World, EY, PwC, and the Times Group. He has also been featured multiple times on the hashtag #HR40under40 list, underscoring his influence and leadership in the field.
An alumnus of Loyola College and Madras School of Social Work, Lionel further enhanced his expertise through programs at Stanford Venture Lab, XLRI, and IIM Bangalore. At Watertec, he remains committed to fostering a people-first culture, focusing on excellence, equity, and sustainable long-term value creation.
