Google has expanded its lower-cost AI Plus subscription to all markets where its AI offerings are available, including India. The plan provides broader access to Google’s advanced AI tools, covering Gemini 3 Pro, multimedia creation features like Nano Banana Pro and Flow, research assistance through NotebookLM, 200 GB of cloud storage, and family sharing options. In India, the plan is priced at ₹399 per month, with a special introductory rate of ₹199 per month for the first six months.
The expansion brings the plan to 35 additional countries and territories, following initial launches in select markets that began with Indonesia last September. In the U.S., the subscription costs $7.99 per month.
Existing Google One Premium 2TB subscribers will automatically receive all Google AI Plus benefits over the coming days.
The plan was originally aimed at emerging markets, offering an affordable step up from free access to Google AI tools like Gemini and Veo for users who may not need or want the more expensive Google AI Pro subscription, which is priced around $20 per month. Globally, the cost of the Plus plan varies, typically coming in under $5 per month in regions like India.
Google designed the plan to make creative AI tools more accessible to a wider audience and to compete with offerings like OpenAI’s ChatGPT Go, which costs $8 per month in the U.S., or less in some emerging markets. The move aims to attract casual users who could eventually become regular subscribers, boosting adoption of Google’s AI ecosystem.
