Deloitte has launched ConnectSafe, a cybersecurity facility in Bengaluru aimed at helping organisations safeguard connected ecosystems from emerging cyber threats and attacks. The initiative reflects a growing need to secure operational systems as industries increasingly rely on interconnected digital infrastructure.
The company, one of the Big Four professional services firms offering audit, tax, consulting, enterprise risk and financial advisory services, said the facility represents a shift in cybersecurity priorities. Rather than focusing solely on protecting data, ConnectSafe is designed to safeguard human lives and critical infrastructure that depend on connected systems.
India’s rapid digital transformation across sectors such as mobility, healthcare, manufacturing, energy, agriculture and digital public infrastructure has significantly expanded the potential surface area for cyberattacks. As organisations adopt connected technologies, vulnerabilities in operational systems can escalate into large-scale disruptions affecting essential services and economic activity.
The 4,500-square-foot facility provides a live environment where organisations can simulate real-world cyber threat scenarios across multiple industries, including automotive, MedTech, industrial systems and consumer ecosystems. By recreating realistic attack conditions, the platform allows enterprises to test and validate their security controls without affecting their live operations.
Through this approach, organisations can identify vulnerabilities in their systems, strengthen security frameworks and improve resilience against cyber risks associated with connected technologies.
“As industries become increasingly connected, from smart factories and power systems to vehicles and medical devices, cyber threats are no longer limited to IT systems, they directly impact the operational backbone of our economy. Through ConnectSafe™, organisations can experience real-world threat scenarios, gain deeper visibility into emerging risks, and strengthen safeguards to protect critical infrastructure, operations, and innovation. In doing so, we are not only helping enterprises build trust and resilience but also positioning India as a leader in next-generation cyber defence,” said Romal Shetty, CEO of Deloitte South Asia.
According to Deloitte, attacks on operational technology (OT) systems can directly affect public safety, public services and economic stability. ConnectSafe aims to help enterprises assess vulnerabilities in both modern and legacy systems while strengthening resilience against emerging threats associated with technologies such as the Internet of Things and Industry 4.0.
Gaurav Shukla, Partner and Leader – Cyber at Deloitte South Asia, said the facility integrates cyber testing, threat intelligence and system validation capabilities to support organisations in proactively securing next-generation systems. These range from individual connected components to large-scale infrastructure networks.
Deloitte noted that the need for stronger cybersecurity capabilities is rising globally as governments and organisations increasingly treat cyber resilience as a national priority. Attacks targeting sectors such as power, transportation, healthcare and digital public infrastructure are now often viewed as potential geopolitical risks.
With ConnectSafe, Deloitte aims to provide enterprises and public-sector organisations with a controlled but realistic environment to test their security preparedness and strengthen defences against evolving cyber threats in an increasingly connected world.
