
Mahindra Group has announced the appointment of Purnima Lamba as its new Chief Brand Officer, effective September 1, 2026. The move reflects the Group’s stronger focus on building a unified and future-ready corporate brand identity across its diverse business verticals.
In her new role, Lamba will lead Mahindra Group’s overall corporate brand and communications strategy. She will be responsible for developing and executing a compelling brand narrative aligned with the company’s values, long-term vision, and business ambitions. Her responsibilities will also include ensuring brand consistency across Mahindra’s businesses while strengthening the Group’s visibility across both traditional and digital platforms.
Before joining Mahindra, Purnima Lamba spent nearly 25 years at Unilever, where she held senior leadership positions across India, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands. During her global career, she worked extensively in brand strategy, digital media innovation, and consumer-focused marketing initiatives.
Her expertise in building tech-enabled beauty experiences and pioneering digital media models played a major role in strengthening brand presence and expanding global reach for several brands under Unilever. Mahindra highlighted her strong understanding of consumer behavior, strategic communication, and digital-first branding as key strengths she brings to the company.

Lamba holds both a BSc and MSc in Management from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Her appointment is seen as part of Mahindra Group’s broader effort to strengthen its corporate identity and enhance its positioning across sectors including automotive, technology, financial services, hospitality, and farm equipment.
