
Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd (IMFA) has appointed Ashesh Padhy as Deputy Chief Operating Officer, bringing extensive leadership experience across the power, mining, metals and steel sectors.
Padhy joins IMFA with a career spanning senior operational and business leadership roles across major industrial organisations, including JSW Steel, JSW Energy, Reliance Power, SKS Power, Vedanta Group and Hindalco Industries. His professional experience covers large-scale operations, plant management, business transformation and the execution of complex industrial projects.
Before taking up his new role at IMFA, Padhy served as Executive Vice President and Head – Odisha Projects at JSW Steel. In that position, he was involved in the company’s project activities in Odisha, adding to his experience in managing large-scale industrial initiatives.
Prior to JSW Steel, Padhy led the Thermal Business at JSW Energy, giving him experience in the power sector and large-scale operational management. His career across power, metals and mining businesses has provided exposure to different aspects of industrial operations and project execution.
Padhy’s professional background also includes experience with Reliance Power and SKS Power, along with leadership roles at Vedanta Group and Hindalco Industries. Across these organisations, he has worked across operational and project-oriented responsibilities within capital-intensive industries.
His experience includes managing greenfield and brownfield projects, along with plant operations and business transformation. This combination of operational leadership and project experience forms a significant part of his professional background as he takes on the Deputy Chief Operating Officer role at IMFA.
At IMFA, Padhy will bring his experience in industrial operations, project management and business leadership to the company’s senior management team. His background across the power, mining, metals and steel industries provides relevant experience for a role focused on operational leadership.
The appointment marks another step in Padhy’s career across India’s industrial sector, following senior responsibilities at JSW Steel and JSW Energy and earlier roles across Reliance Power, SKS Power, Vedanta Group and Hindalco Industries. His move to IMFA brings together experience from multiple capital-intensive industries and large-scale industrial projects.
