While the redesigned Siri has emerged as the headline feature of iOS 27, several lesser-known enhancements are drawing attention for their practical impact on everyday iPhone use. Following hands-on testing of the iOS 27 beta on the iPhone Air, a number of under-the-radar features have stood out as meaningful additions to Apple’s latest mobile operating system.
Unveiled during Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), iOS 27 is scheduled for release later this year and will be available on iPhone 11 and newer models. Although the update does not introduce a dramatic visual redesign, it delivers a range of refinements focused on productivity, convenience, and artificial intelligence integration.
One of the notable additions is the new “Notify Me” feature in Safari. The functionality allows users to receive alerts when content on a webpage changes, reducing the need to repeatedly check websites for updates. The feature is designed to improve browsing efficiency and make information tracking more seamless.
Another practical enhancement is the introduction of a dedicated paste button on the keyboard. The addition simplifies the process of inserting copied content, offering a more accessible and user-friendly experience for frequent multitaskers.
Apple has also incorporated a new large language model (LLM)-powered dictation capability into the keyboard. The feature is designed to improve voice-to-text accuracy and contextual understanding, helping users compose messages, notes, and documents more naturally through speech input.
In addition, iOS 27 now allows users to save individual images directly from videos. This feature eliminates the need for screenshots, enabling users to extract higher-quality still images from video content with greater ease.
The update reflects Apple’s broader effort to integrate artificial intelligence across its software ecosystem while maintaining a focus on everyday usability. Although much of the conversation surrounding iOS 27 has centered on Siri’s AI-powered upgrades, these smaller enhancements demonstrate how the company is refining core experiences across the operating system.
For users upgrading to iOS 27, the most impactful changes may not necessarily be the headline AI features, but rather the collection of subtle improvements designed to make daily interactions with the iPhone smoother and more efficient.
