Digital Edge Acquires 30 Acres at Palava for 270MW Data Centre Development

India — APAC data centre operator Digital Edge DC has acquired approximately 30 acres of land at the proposed Green Integrated Data Centre Park in Palava, near Mumbai, for around ₹1,000 crore, marking another significant investment in India’s rapidly growing digital infrastructure sector.

The acquisition was confirmed by Lodha, the developer of the proposed Green Integrated Data Centre Park, in a press release issued on 6 July 2026. Digital Edge plans to develop a 270MW hyperscale data centre campus on the site, further expanding its capacity to serve growing demand for cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), enterprise digital transformation, and hyperscale infrastructure in India.

Located around 45 kilometres northeast of Mumbai, the Palava development is expected to strengthen the Mumbai Metropolitan Region’s position as one of India’s largest data centre hubs, supported by robust connectivity, power infrastructure, and proximity to major enterprise and cloud customers.

The latest acquisition builds on Digital Edge’s existing investments in India. The company is currently developing a 300MW hyperscale data centre campus in Navi Mumbai, where construction commenced in 2024. Earlier this year, the company also signed an 83MW solar power purchase agreement (PPA) with Hexa Climate to support renewable energy requirements for its operations.

The expansion reflects Digital Edge’s continued commitment to the Indian market as enterprises, hyperscale cloud providers, and AI companies accelerate investments in digital infrastructure. Demand for data centre capacity continues to rise, driven by increasing adoption of cloud services, generative AI, high-performance computing, digital payments, enterprise applications, and data localization requirements.

Industry analysts expect India to remain one of the fastest-growing data centre markets globally, supported by rapid digitalization, government initiatives, expanding internet usage, and growing investments from global cloud service providers and technology companies.

Digital Edge is an Asia-Pacific data centre platform backed by Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners, a New York-based infrastructure investment firm. The company develops and operates carrier-neutral, hyperscale-ready data centres across the Asia-Pacific region, providing digital infrastructure solutions that support cloud computing, AI workloads, enterprise IT, and next-generation connectivity.
