Nitesh Ranjan Prasad Joins YES BANK as Head of Operational Risk

Nitesh Ranjan Prasad has joined YES BANK as Head of Operational Risk, marking a new chapter in his career in banking and risk management. Prasad announced his new position through a LinkedIn post, stating that he was starting a new role as Head of Operational Risk at the bank.

With extensive experience in operational risk management and financial services, Prasad brings a background covering operational risk, outsourcing risk, digital risk management, business continuity management, technology risk and new product and process approval. His experience has included leadership responsibilities across several areas of risk management within the banking sector.

Before joining YES BANK, Prasad served as Head of Operational Risk at Axis Bank. Public professional profiles show that he held the position from December 2020, overseeing operational risk functions at the bank.

His responsibilities at Axis Bank covered a broad range of risk areas. Industry conference profiles identify his work across Operational Risk, Digital Risk, Outsourcing Risk, Technology Risk, Business Continuity Planning and Product Process Approval Management. These responsibilities gave him exposure to multiple operational and technology-related risks within the banking environment.

Prasad’s experience at Axis Bank also included engagement with business continuity and resilience-related issues. He has participated in industry discussions on business continuity, resilience investments, third-party dependencies, regulatory expectations and the use of meaningful metrics to assess resilience initiatives. His participation in the 2026 Business Continuity & Cybersecurity India Summit is also listed by the event organiser.

Prior to Axis Bank, Prasad spent several years with HDFC Bank in risk management roles. Industry records identify him as Senior Vice President and Head of Outsourcing Risk Management at HDFC Bank before his move to Axis Bank.

His earlier career at HDFC Bank included roles across credit, operational and outsourcing risk. A professional profile lists positions including Senior Vice President, Vice President, Deputy Vice President, Assistant Vice President and Senior Manager during his tenure at the bank. Before HDFC Bank, he worked with ICICI Bank as a Manager in RMAG and earlier with Fortress Financial Services Limited in infrastructure advisory services.

Prasad’s professional background has therefore developed across several dimensions of financial-sector risk management. His experience spans operational risk, third-party and outsourcing risk, technology-related risk, digital risk and business continuity, giving him exposure to the risk considerations associated with banking operations and technology-driven financial services.

At YES BANK, Prasad will take responsibility for the bank’s operational risk function. His appointment comes with experience of managing risk frameworks across banking organisations and working across areas that include operational resilience, technology risk, outsourcing and business continuity.

The move also marks a continuation of Prasad’s focus on operational risk leadership after nearly six years at Axis Bank. His experience across Axis Bank and HDFC Bank has included responsibilities involving complex risk portfolios and multiple operational and technology-related areas.

As Head of Operational Risk at YES BANK, Prasad will bring his experience across operational, digital, outsourcing and technology risk into his new role. His appointment adds an experienced risk-management professional to the bank’s leadership in a function that covers a broad range of operational and resilience-related responsibilities.
