Amitabh Nag, the CEO of the Digital India Bhashini Division, has been appointed as the director of AI Kosh (India AI Datasets Platform) and the IndiaAI Applications Development initiative, key components of the IndiaAI Mission. Nag has been leading the Bhashini project for the past two years and will now oversee these additional responsibilities.
Launched on March 6, AI Kosh currently hosts 339 datasets and 159 AI models from 17 organizations across 15 sectors, along with a repository of use cases and toolkits. The platform aims to provide researchers and developers with critical datasets, fostering AI-driven innovation across various industries.
With an initial allocation of ₹199.55 crore, AI Kosh serves as a unified platform that integrates datasets from government sources and non-government contributors. This initiative is designed to facilitate seamless access to data, enabling the development of AI applications and driving India’s artificial intelligence ecosystem forward.
