AI startup Anthropic has introduced “Claude Tag,” a new AI-powered collaboration feature integrated directly into Slack, marking the company’s latest push into enterprise workplace automation and productivity tools.
The newly launched feature allows employees to interact with Anthropic’s Claude AI assistant inside Slack conversations by simply tagging “@Claude” within channels and discussion threads. The AI agent can read conversations, break down tasks, monitor updates, analyze information, and assist teams collaboratively without requiring users to switch between multiple applications.
Claude Tag is currently available in beta for Claude Enterprise and Claude Team customers using Slack, with Anthropic confirming plans to expand the capability to additional platforms in the future. The feature is designed to maintain contextual memory over time, allowing the AI assistant to continue supporting ongoing projects and team workflows across conversations.
Cat Wu, Anthropic’s Head of Product for Claude Code, highlighted the significance of the integration, stating, “A lot of the capabilities did exist, but actually the form factor of being able to tag it the same way that you would a coworker is really powerful.”
According to Anthropic, administrators will retain control over the channels, tools, and organizational data accessible to Claude Tag. The company said the AI assistant can support tasks including data analysis, workflow management, software development assistance, and operational coordination within Slack environments.
The launch comes as enterprise AI adoption continues to accelerate globally, with technology companies increasingly embedding generative AI capabilities into workplace communication and productivity platforms. Anthropic said Claude Tag replaces its earlier Slack chatbot experience with a more persistent and collaborative AI teammate model built for enterprise operations.
Industry attention around enterprise AI collaboration tools has intensified as organizations invest in automation, AI-assisted workflows, and conversational AI systems to improve productivity and operational efficiency across teams and departments.
