Bipin Loke is joining Alkem Laboratories as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) on November 2, 2026, following his tenure at Tata Communications. The appointment brings experience across enterprise cybersecurity, security operations and industrial security to the pharmaceutical company.
In a note shared with CXO Digital Pulse, Loke confirmed the move and outlined a professional background spanning Security Operations Centres (SOCs), operational technology (OT) security and cybersecurity services for large enterprises. His experience includes building and managing security capabilities, leading security transformation and strengthening resilience across IT and OT environments.
The transition takes him from a communications and enterprise technology services organisation into pharmaceutical manufacturing, where information security intersects with production systems, research, business operations and the protection of sensitive information.
Alkem Laboratories operates across generics, speciality pharmaceuticals and other healthcare segments, with a presence in more than 40 countries. Its business spans product development, manufacturing and distribution, creating a varied operating environment for enterprise security leadership.
Loke’s combination of enterprise and industrial cybersecurity experience is relevant to that environment. Corporate IT and operational systems serve different purposes, requiring security approaches that account for both information protection and the availability of production processes. His stated experience across these domains provides a background that connects security operations with the practical requirements of industrial environments.
Alkem’s manufacturing disclosures describe initiatives involving process automation, electronic logbooks and electronic batch cards. Such systems illustrate the connection between digital infrastructure and manufacturing operations, providing context for the importance of security across the company’s technology landscape.
His experience in establishing and managing security capabilities also adds an operational dimension to the appointment. SOC leadership and security transformation involve translating security objectives into monitoring, response capabilities and processes that can support enterprise requirements.
The move marks a new sectoral assignment for Loke, carrying forward his experience in cybersecurity services and resilience across enterprise and industrial environments into Alkem’s information security leadership.
