Pernod Ricard India has announced the appointment of Debasree Dasgupta as its new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and Head of Global Business Development, effective November 1, 2025. She will relocate to India as part of a phased transition and formally take charge in November. Dasgupta succeeds Kartik Mohindra, whose tenure has been instrumental in strengthening the company’s market leadership, brand equity, and ability to navigate evolving consumer preferences and regulatory challenges. His contributions have solidified Pernod Ricard India’s strong position in the highly competitive alco-bev industry.
Currently, Dasgupta serves as Global Vice President for Absolut, where she has been a key driver of the brand’s global strategy, growth trajectory, and premiumisation efforts. In this role, she has been pivotal in expanding Absolut’s international footprint and reinforcing its appeal among diverse consumer bases.
Her appointment comes at a critical time for Pernod Ricard India, which continues to face dynamic shifts in consumer behaviour, evolving regulations, and heightened competition. By bringing in Dasgupta, the company is aiming to infuse global best practices with a deep understanding of local market dynamics.
With a career spanning senior leadership positions at PepsiCo, Reckitt, and Unilever, Dasgupta brings with her extensive international exposure across multiple consumer categories and geographies. This diverse background equips her with the ability to blend strategic vision with on-ground execution, a crucial asset for sustaining and accelerating growth in India.
“Currently serving as Global Vice President for Absolut, Dasgupta has been central in driving the brand’s global strategy, growth, and premiumisation initiatives,” the company noted in its announcement. “Her appointment reflects Pernod Ricard India’s strategic vision to integrate global expertise with local execution, positioning her to deliver fresh insights, long-term value, and renewed energy to the company’s India operations.”
As she prepares to take on her new role, Dasgupta is expected to focus on deepening consumer connections, driving innovation, and steering Pernod Ricard India’s marketing and business development strategies into its next phase of growth.
