Freshworks has bought Robusta Dev Ltd., an Israeli startup that builds AI to work out why IT systems fail. Robusta’s engine investigates technology disruptions, identifies root causes and recommends remediation actions. The acquisition was announced on 28 October 2026, and the financial terms were not disclosed.
The technology will go into Freshservice, the company’s IT service management platform. Freshworks said the deal strengthens Freshservice in incident management and IT operations. In simple terms, when something breaks, teams often lose time gathering evidence before they can fix it. Robusta is meant to do that investigation work for them.
The plan is for Robusta to use Freshservice’s business service information, CMDB dependencies and change histories to trace where a disruption began. Freshworks also intends to combine it with its FireHydrant incident orchestration capabilities, which should support faster resolution and help prevent the same outage from returning.
Control stays with people. Engineers will be able to review and approve recommended changes before they reach live systems. That is an important safeguard when AI is advising on production environments.
Co-founders Natan Yellin and Arik Alon and the rest of the Robusta team are joining Freshworks. Robusta was founded in 2021.
This is also part of a pattern. Robusta is the third company Freshworks has moved to buy in 2026, all aimed at its IT business, after FireHydrant and Torii. Torii tracks software and AI usage, licences and spending, and the agreement to buy it was signed on 12 October. Taken together, the three deals point to a broader AI-driven IT operations offering.
The integration is still a plan, so product details and timelines are yet to be seen. How well Robusta’s investigations work inside Freshservice will decide how much the deal helps customers.
