IBS Software, a leading SaaS solutions provider, has appointed Somit Goyal as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective immediately.
Goyal succeeds Anand Krishnan, who led IBS Software since 2018. In his new role, Goyal will report directly to V K Mathews, IBS Software’s Executive Chairman, according to the company’s statement.
Krishnan, who departed IBS in March 2024, is now the CEO of Cyncly, a company that provides software and solutions to designers, retailers, and manufacturers in the spaces-for-living industry. Krishnan’s career also includes over a decade at Microsoft.
Goyal brings extensive experience in the enterprise software industry, having held leadership positions at global giants like Microsoft, SAP, Oracle, and AOL.
During his ten-year tenure at Microsoft, Goyal held several leadership roles across strategy, operations, sales, and customer success. His last role at Microsoft involved managing global sales for the company’s Modern Work cloud business. Before that, he served as the Chief Operating Officer of Microsoft’s Public Sector business worldwide and established the Customer Success function, a key area for IBS Software’s global expansion.
Most recently, Goyal was the President and COO of Pluralsight, a SaaS company, overseeing product, engineering, and go-to-market functions.
“Goyal’s extensive experience in global SaaS operations, leading diverse teams, and managing all facets of enterprise software makes him the perfect fit to lead IBS Software during this exciting phase of growth,” said Mathews.
“IBS Software is at a pivotal stage in its journey as we continue to innovate to better serve our customers. I am confident Goyal will help us unlock our full potential.”
“With a broad portfolio of industry-leading products, marquee customers, and a talented team with deep domain expertise, IBS Software is at the forefront of travel industry innovation. I am thrilled to join IBS Software and lead it through its next exciting chapter,” said Goyal, who holds an electrical engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in New Delhi, India, and an MBA from INSEAD, France.
Headquartered in Thiruvananthapuram, IBS Software helps travel companies accelerate innovation and drive efficiency across various core business processes, including passenger services, flight operations, cargo and logistics, loyalty management, cruise operations, energy and resource logistics, and hospitality. The company also has offices in Dubai and Bengaluru.
