Kingfisher Plc, a retailer specializing in home improvement, announced on Monday the appointment of Bhavesh Mistry as its next CFO, succeeding Bernard Bot who is set to retire. Mistry, currently the CFO of British Land, has a 12-month notice period, and his departure date will be determined in due course. Bot’s retirement from Kingfisher is expected no earlier than January 2025.
Mistry has served as CFO at British Land for three years, overseeing significant transactions such as the sale of stakes in London office complexes and shopping centers. Previously, he held the position of deputy CFO at Tesco from 2018 to 2021, and has held senior finance roles at Whitbread, Virgin Media, and Anheuser-Busch InBev.
In 2024, Kingfisher, the parent company of British brands B&Q and Screwfix, has expressed caution about the market, particularly noting soft demand in high-value product categories.
