Kolkata, McNally Bharat Engineering Company Limited has appointed Sarvesh Kumar Adukia as its Chief Executive Officer and Key Managerial Personnel with immediate effect.
The company’s Board of Directors approved Adukia’s appointment during a meeting held on July 27, following a recommendation from the Nomination and Remuneration Committee. The board meeting commenced at 11:30 AM and concluded at 11:45 AM.
Adukia succeeds Rajendra Mohan Mathur, who stepped down as Chief Executive Officer due to personal reasons. Mathur’s resignation became effective at the close of business on July 18, after which he also ceased to be a Key Managerial Personnel of the company.
Adukia is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Company Secretary and holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce. He brings more than 18 years of professional experience across corporate strategy, financial management, governance, compliance and stakeholder engagement.
During his career, he has managed multidisciplinary teams working across finance, operations and compliance functions. His experience includes designing and implementing management-information systems to improve organisational reporting and support decision-making by senior executives.
Adukia has also worked with multinational business groups and advised the boards of two European group entities based in Germany and Hungary. His responsibilities across these assignments included providing guidance on corporate strategy, liquidity management, financial controls and governance.
His appointment represents another change in McNally Bharat Engineering’s senior management. In June, the company appointed Harish Avadhani as Chief Financial Officer and Key Managerial Personnel following the resignation of Rupayan Majumdar.
Adukia’s appointment has been disclosed under Regulation 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India’s Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements. As Chief Executive Officer, he will be responsible for leading the company’s operations and working with the board and management team on its business priorities.
Established in 1961 and headquartered in Kolkata, McNally Bharat Engineering Company undertakes engineering, procurement and construction projects. Its operations cover sectors including power, steel, mining, ports, material handling and infrastructure. The company designs and implements industrial systems and undertakes projects involving mineral processing, bulk-material handling, ash handling and related engineering services.
