Hero MotoCorp has appointed Nikhil Diwan as Head – Human Resource at its Vadodara location. In his new role, Diwan will focus on human resources strategy, people management, employee engagement and organisational development, bringing his experience across industrial and manufacturing environments to the company.
Diwan brings around 23 years of professional experience across human resources, employee relations, industrial relations, administration, talent management and business-unit HR leadership. His career has included senior HR responsibilities across the manufacturing, chemicals, mining and engineering sectors.
Before joining Hero MotoCorp, Diwan was associated with Aarti Industries, where he most recently served as Vice President and Vertical HR Head. He joined Aarti Industries in 2019 and held a series of HR leadership responsibilities, including General Manager and Zonal HR Head, AVP and Vertical HR Head, and Vice President and Vertical HR Head.
During his nearly seven-year tenure at Aarti Industries, Diwan worked across people and business functions in a manufacturing environment. He concluded his stint with the company on September 21, 2026, after serving in several leadership roles covering HR and people-related responsibilities.
Prior to Aarti Industries, Diwan spent several years with the Vedanta Group. His roles included Location HR Head and Executive Committee member at Zawar Group of Mines, as well as Location HR Head and Executive Committee member at the Rajpura Dariba Complex. He also served as Unit HR Head at Rajpura Dariba Complex, a Hindustan Zinc business within the Vedanta Group.
Earlier in his career, Diwan worked with Holcim as Senior Manager – Personnel & Administration and with Reliance Industries as Manager – Human Resource Development. His professional journey also includes HR and employee-welfare responsibilities at ACC and an early career role with Beekay Engineering and Casting.
Across these organisations, Diwan has built experience in employee engagement, employee relations, administration, HR business partnering and workforce management. His background has particularly involved working closely with manufacturing and industrial operations, where HR functions are closely connected with workforce productivity, employee relations and business requirements.
Diwan’s experience has also been recognised through industry and professional awards. His profile lists recognition including the “251 Most Talented HR Leaders” award from Times Ascent World HRD Congress in 2023, as well as the Times Ascent World HRD Congress Top HR Minds recognition in 2021. He was also recognised as a Best IBU HR Head at Hindustan Zinc during 2017-18.
At Hero MotoCorp, Diwan will take on his new HR leadership responsibilities in Vadodara. Hero MotoCorp has an established presence in the region, including its Halol manufacturing facility and a regional office in Vadodara.
His appointment brings a combination of industrial HR experience and business-focused people leadership to Hero MotoCorp. With experience spanning large manufacturing and industrial organisations, Diwan’s new mandate will cover people management, employee engagement and organisational development while supporting HR requirements across the business.
The move marks Diwan’s transition from Aarti Industries to Hero MotoCorp after nearly seven years with the chemicals and manufacturing company. His broader career across Aarti Industries, Vedanta Group, Holcim, Reliance Industries, ACC and Beekay Engineering and Casting has given him experience across different industrial workforces and business environments.
As Head – Human Resource at Hero MotoCorp, Diwan will now focus on strengthening the company’s HR function and supporting its people and organisational priorities from the Vadodara location.
