
Nipun Siddhrau has joined Kotak Mahindra Bank as Deputy Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Executive Vice President. He brings more than 20 years of experience in cybersecurity and information technology within the banking sector.
Siddhrau has built his career across information security, cybersecurity operations, IT security and information systems audit. His professional background includes experience in securing banking technology environments and managing cybersecurity functions.
Before joining Kotak Mahindra Bank, Siddhrau was associated with State Bank of India, where he held cybersecurity and technology-related roles. His previous positions included Assistant General Manager in the Security Operations Centre, Assistant General Manager – Cyber Security, Chief Manager – Cyber Security and Chief Manager – IT Support and Services.
Earlier in his career, Siddhrau served as Chief Information Security Officer at Bharatiya Mahila Bank. He began his banking career in information system audit and subsequently moved into technology and cybersecurity leadership roles.
Siddhrau holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Shri G S Institute of Technology & Science. His professional certifications include Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), ISO 27001 Lead Auditor and certifications in information system audit, IT security and banking technology. He has also been recognised in the EC-Council CEH Hall of Fame.
At Kotak Mahindra Bank, Siddhrau takes on the role of Deputy Chief Information Security Officer and Executive Vice President. The bank’s technology leadership structure includes cybersecurity and information security as part of its broader technology and risk framework. Kotak Mahindra Bank’s Chief Technology Officer oversees enterprise architecture, engineering, infrastructure, information security, data platforms and emerging technologies.
Siddhrau’s appointment comes as he moves from a long career in banking technology and cybersecurity into his new leadership role at Kotak Mahindra Bank. His experience across security operations, information security, IT support and cybersecurity management will form part of his responsibilities in the new position.
