Orkla India, a company under the umbrella of the Norwegian industrial investment firm Orkla ASA, revealed on Thursday that Suniana Calapa has been appointed as the Director of Information Technology (IT) and Finance.
Calapa comes with extensive experience in overseeing businesses, particularly in financial planning, controllership, analysis, and audit. With a career spanning over two decades, she is now taking charge of the finance and IT functions at Orkla India. Prior to this role, Calapa held executive positions at Metro Wholesale India, J.P. Morgan, Kshema Technologies, Patni Computer Systems, and KPMG.
Orkla is the owner of MTR Foods and Eastern Condiments, both of which are food product companies. The company operates in India and has a workforce of over 4,000 employees. Orkla first entered the Indian market in 2007 when it acquired MTR Foods. In 2020, Orkla increased its presence by acquiring a 67.8 percent stake in Eastern Condiments, a spice manufacturer based in Kerala.
