With more than two decades of experience in the financial services industry, Acharya brings extensive expertise in financial reporting, regulatory compliance, strategic planning, business finance, and financial management.
His appointment reflects SBI Capital Markets’ commitment to strengthening its financial leadership as the organization continues to support business growth and expand its market presence. In his new role as CFO, Acharya will oversee the company’s financial strategy, governance, reporting, compliance, and capital management functions while contributing to long-term business objectives.
Prior to this elevation, Acharya served as Vice President and Finance Team Head at SBI Capital Markets. During his tenure, he played a key role in managing critical finance operations and supporting various strategic growth initiatives. His contributions helped strengthen financial controls, enhance reporting frameworks, and support business decision-making across the organization.
With over 20 years of experience in the financial services sector, Acharya has developed deep expertise across accounting, controllership, regulatory compliance, financial planning, and strategic business support. His leadership experience has enabled him to navigate complex financial environments while ensuring strong governance and operational efficiency.
Before joining SBI Capital Markets, Acharya spent more than 12 years with Macquarie Group, where he held several finance leadership positions. During this period, he gained significant experience in financial management, business finance, risk oversight, and regulatory reporting within a global financial services environment. His tenure contributed to the development of a broad perspective on financial strategy and organizational performance.
Earlier in his career, he worked with Lehman Brothers as Senior Analyst – Financial Control. This role provided him with foundational expertise in financial reporting, accounting operations, and internal control processes, further strengthening his technical and leadership capabilities in finance.
