Prathmesh Mishra has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Varun Beverages Limited, bringing more than 25 years of experience across the beverages and alcoholic beverages industry to the leadership role.
Mishra joins Varun Beverages with extensive experience in commercial leadership, business operations, sales, pricing, product development, channel management, key accounts and P&L management. His career has included senior responsibilities across both the alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage sectors, giving him broad exposure to consumer markets and business growth.
Before joining Varun Beverages, Mishra served as Managing Director – Korea & Japan at Diageo, where he was responsible for leading the company’s business operations across the two markets. His international experience adds to his understanding of beverage markets, commercial strategy and consumer-led business development.
Prior to his Korea and Japan leadership role, Mishra spent more than 10 years with Diageo India, holding key positions including Chief Commercial Officer and Chief Operating Officer – West. During his tenure, he handled a broad range of responsibilities spanning sales, finance, manufacturing, human resources and regional business operations, building experience across both commercial and operational functions.
Mishra also spent around 14 years with Pernod Ricard India, where he held several leadership positions across different regions and business functions. His roles included Vice President – North, Vice President – West, Assistant Vice President – West, AVP – Central, Region Head – CSD and National Controller – Key Accounts.
Across these leadership assignments, Mishra has developed expertise in sales and commercial strategy, pricing, product development, channel management, key-account relationships and P&L leadership. His experience across multiple functions and markets has given him a broad perspective on driving business performance, strengthening distribution and developing consumer-focused growth strategies.
His appointment comes with a substantial background in the beverage industry, particularly in areas that require close coordination between commercial execution, operations and market development. At Varun Beverages, his experience is expected to support the company as it continues to build its business and pursue opportunities across the evolving beverage market.
Mishra holds an MBA in Marketing from the Institute of Management Studies (IMS), Ghaziabad, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Delhi University.
With more than two decades of experience across leading beverage companies and senior commercial and operational roles, Prathmesh Mishra brings a combination of industry knowledge, market experience and business leadership to his new position as CEO and Managing Director of Varun Beverages.
