Walmart Global Tech India has elevated Praveenchandra Hegde to the role of Director of Software Engineering, marking a significant milestone in his long-standing association with the organization.
In this role, he will lead large-scale engineering initiatives, drive platform innovation, and strengthen technology capabilities across global markets.
He has been with Walmart Global Tech India for over 11 years, progressing through multiple leadership positions. Most recently, he served as Senior Manager II – Software Engineering from May 2022 to April 2026 in Karnataka, India, where he led key initiatives including the launch of the online platform for Walmart Africa, overseeing end-to-end delivery across pre-order and post-order journeys.
Prior to this, he held the role of Senior Engineering Manager I from January 2021 to May 2022 in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, contributing to platform development and engineering leadership.
Earlier, he worked as Staff Software Engineer from June 2019 to January 2021, building expertise in distributed systems and platform engineering.
Before joining Walmart Global Tech India, he was associated with Genpact Headstrong Capital Markets and Infosys, where he developed strong capabilities in distributed computing, digital transformation, and enterprise platforms.
With experience spanning platform engineering, large-scale systems, and digital transformation, Praveenchandra Hegde brings a strong foundation to lead engineering innovation and technology development at Walmart Global Tech India.
