Mahindra Group has appointed Shveta Arya as Group Chief Strategy Officer, effective September 15, 2026, strengthening its senior strategy leadership as the diversified group continues to focus on identifying growth opportunities, unlocking value across its portfolio and shaping long-term strategic priorities.
In her new role, Arya will lead the Group Strategy Office and work across Mahindra Group’s diverse portfolio of businesses. Her mandate will involve supporting the Group’s strategic direction, identifying opportunities for growth, unlocking value across businesses and helping shape priorities that support long-term value creation.
Arya brings more than two decades of experience across strategy, business leadership and consulting, with a career spanning several sectors, including automotive, travel, financial services and telecom. Her cross-industry experience has given her exposure to different business models and strategic environments, adding breadth to her leadership profile.
Before taking up her new role at Mahindra Group, Arya served as Managing Director of Cummins India. Her leadership experience at Cummins India adds to her background in business management and the automotive and industrial ecosystem.
Across her career, Arya has built experience at the intersection of strategy and business leadership, working across sectors and taking on responsibilities that have involved navigating complex business environments. Her consulting and corporate leadership experience also provides a combination of strategic perspective and operational understanding that will be relevant to her Group-level mandate.
At Mahindra Group, Arya will be responsible for leading the Group Strategy Office and working with businesses across the organisation. The role will require a broad portfolio perspective, with a focus on identifying areas where the Group can pursue new opportunities, strengthen existing businesses and create additional value.
Her appointment comes at a time when diversified organisations are placing greater importance on portfolio thinking, strategic clarity and long-term value creation. With businesses operating across multiple sectors, group-level strategy requires a coordinated view of individual businesses as well as the opportunities and challenges emerging across markets.
Arya’s experience across automotive, travel, financial services and telecom gives her exposure to a range of industries, while her background in strategy and consulting adds another dimension to her leadership profile. As Group Chief Strategy Officer, Arya will take on a central role in helping the Group evaluate growth opportunities, support strategic decision-making and identify avenues for value creation. She will also work across the portfolio to help align long-term priorities with the Group’s broader strategic direction.
Her appointment is effective September 15, 2026, after which she will formally take charge of the Group Strategy Office.
