Sonpal Singh Hajari has taken on the role of Vice President – Global Launch Integration at Agratas, a Tata Enterprise focused on advanced electric vehicle battery and energy storage solutions.
In this position, he will lead the strategic planning and execution of global gigafactory launches across India and the UK, ensuring smooth transitions from greenfield development to high-volume manufacturing. His mandate centers on achieving operational excellence, enabling scalability, and ensuring timely delivery of next-generation battery production capabilities.
He brings over two decades of experience in manufacturing and industrial operations. Most recently, he was associated with TDS Lithium-Ion Battery Gujarat Private Limited, where he played a key role in scaling a greenfield facility into stable mass production, delivering zero-defect battery systems since 2021.
During his tenure at TDS Lithium-Ion Battery Gujarat Private Limited, he served as Divisional Head – Cell Manufacturing from October 2018 to April 2026 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. In this role, he led operations management and strategic planning for both short-term and long-term manufacturing goals.
He also held the position of Deputy Head of Division from April 2023 to April 2025, where he oversaw the Cell Manufacturing Division, managing functions including production, process engineering, manufacturing excellence, quality control, maintenance, and production planning and control.
Earlier, he served as Assistant General Manager – Operations from October 2018 to April 2025, contributing to lithium-ion battery cell manufacturing operations within the joint venture between Toshiba Corporation, Suzuki Motor Gujarat, and Denso Corporation.
His professional journey also includes leadership roles at Magna International, ArcelorMittal, and Larsen & Toubro Limited, where he developed strong capabilities in large-scale project execution and manufacturing excellence.
With deep expertise in EV manufacturing and industrial scale-up, Sonpal Singh Hajari brings a strong foundation to support Agratas’ global expansion and gigafactory initiatives.
