Sun Pharmaceutical has appointed Suresh Kumar Rai as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), effective December 7. He was associated with Unilever as CHRO – Unilever Global Nutrition and was also part of Unilever Global HR Leadership Team.
Dr Sapna Purohit, present Senior Vice President, and Head – HR, would retire from the company on February 29, 2024. Rai would work closely with Dr Purohit until her retirement, according to a statement.
In a career spanning over three decades, he was associated with Unilever and Procter & Gamble. In his 25+ years of association with Unilever, he held number of senior leadership roles which included Global Vice President- Foods & Refreshment, Vice President Human Resources – South-East Asia & Australasia, Vice President Human Resources – Unilever Philippines, Leadership & Organization Development Director – Global Markets. Prior to Unilever, he was associated with Procter and Gamble.
He holds a MBA in HR from XLRI Jamshedpur and B Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Delhi.
